Rebecca Bennett (NJ-07) and Marni von Wilpert (CA-48) grow the total New Dem-endorsed cohort to 29 candidates
Washington, D.C. — Today, New Democrat Coalition Action Fund (NDAF) Chair Greg Stanton (AZ-04) announced the endorsement of Rebecca Bennett (NJ-07) and Marni von Wilpert (CA-48). Both candidates advanced through their primary elections this Tuesday and have been added to the DCCC’s Red to Blue list. New Dems have now endorsed 29 candidates this cycle, including 20 of the 24 candidates added to the Red to Blue program.
“I’m excited to throw the full weight of the New Dem operation behind Rebecca Bennett and Marni von Wilpert. Hot on the heels of their successful primary elections this week, these exceptional candidates are well on their way to flipping two of the critical seats we need to take back the House this fall,” said NDAF Chair Greg Stanton. “As Republican lawmakers try to steal seats, New Dems remain laser-focused on supporting proven leaders who can win in the toughest districts – just like Rebecca and Marni. I look forward to adding more commonsense candidates to our program as we pick up speed headed to November.”
"I'm honored to have the support of New Dems in this race. The New Democrat Coalition has long been a home for pragmatic leaders who put solutions above politics, and service over self,” said Rebecca Bennett. “New Jersey's 7th District deserves a representative who will roll up their sleeves to grow the economy, lower costs, and get things done for our communities. That's exactly what I’m ready to do once we flip this seat in November."
“I’m honored to earn the support of New Dems, a group that knows how to win tough races and deliver real results in Washington,” said Marni von Wilpert. “California’s 48th deserves a leader who’s focused on getting things done – not selling out to Donald Trump. With a proven track record of flipping seats red to blue and fighting to make life more affordable in Southern California, I’m ready to flip this seat and get to work with the New Dems in Congress.”
