New Dems Celebrate Cait Conley’s Primary Win in NY-17

NDAF Candidate Cait Conley outran Republican dark money to advance to the general election

Today, New Democrat Coalition Action Fund (NDAF) Chair Greg Stanton (AZ-04) issued a statement after NDAF-endorsed candidate Cait Conley won the Democratic primary in NY-17.

New Dems were early supporters in the race, which was inundated with $1.5 million from Republican operatives that targeted Conley in an attempt to send a weaker Democratic candidate to the general election to face incumbent Rep. Mike Lawler.

“Mike Lawler and national Republicans wanted an easier race. Democratic voters gave them Cait Conley,” said NDAF Chair Greg Stanton. “Cait cleared the field and won the nomination because she is exactly the kind of candidate who can win this district:  battle-tested, grassroots-powered, and running on a common-sense New Dem message that meets New Yorkers where they are. She has the momentum, the toughness, and the message to flip one of the most pivotal seats in the country and help Democrats take back the House majority.”
