Flipping these Districts from Red to Blue will be Essential in NewDems’ Mission of Taking Back the House
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the New Democrat Coalition Action Fund announced the endorsement of two candidates for the 2024 cycle, Will Rollins for California’s 41st Congressional District and Kirsten Engel for Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District. In 2022, Will and Kirsten received the New Dem Action Fund’s endorsements and narrowly lost their races. They have the talent, experience, and determination necessary to flip these key seats in 2024.
As a litigator, state legislator and a professor, Kirsten has worked tirelessly to protect Arizona’s natural resources and is dedicated to ensuring Arizonans can succeed in the U.S. economy. She will face off against GOP Rep. Juan Ciscomani.
Will Rollins, a former federal prosecutor who focused on counterrorism, is running to preserve our democracy and protect California's communities. Will will once again go up against GOP Rep. Ken Calvert.
“NewDems are thrilled to endorse Kirsten Engel and Will Rollins for the 2024 cycle,” said New Dem Action Fund Chair Ami Bera and New Democrat Coalition Chair Annie Kuster. “Will and Kirsten will be critical to ensuring Democrats flip the House so we can continue our work to build an economy where every American has the opportunity to earn a good life. In Congress, NewDems look forward to working with both candidates to protect Americans’ fundamental freedoms, preserve our sacred democracy, and improve our planet for future generations.”
"I am thrilled to be endorsed by the New Democrat Coalition Action Fund in my campaign for this critical swing district as they join us in the fight to grow Arizona's economy with high-paying jobs and tackle the many challenges facing our state,” said Kirsten Engel (AZ-06). “The NewDems are committed to coming together to find pragmatic solutions to our problems - protecting reproductive freedoms, addressing the climate crisis that is testing our state as we speak, and lowering the cost of healthcare, among so many other issues. I look forward to joining their ranks in Congress and getting to work for Southern Arizonans."
“I’m excited to receive the NewDem Action Fund’s endorsement,” said Will Rollins (CA-41). “Extremism and disinformation in our politics have held Congress back from finding common ground to get things done for working families in this country. We need an economic agenda that is a job creation catalyst from coast to coast, including a green energy economic plan right here in Riverside County. I know that the NewDems are focused on overcoming the gridlock that’s stopped Congress from working for working people, and I look forward to joining their ranks to get Washington focused again on creating opportunity for the American people.”
