Today, New Democrat Coalition Chair-Elect Brad Schneider (IL-10) announced that Rep. Haley Stevens (MI-11) will serve as Chair of the New Democrat Coalition Action Fund for the upcoming election cycle, culminating in the 2026 midterm elections.
“New Democrats represent every day, hardworking families of every demographic and socioeconomic background - rural, urban, and suburban - in communities across America. And I am thrilled to step into the role of New Dem Action Fund Chair to work alongside our Chair-elect, Rep. Brad Schneider, and all my New Democrat colleagues to secure the next Democratic majority,” said New Dem Action Fund Chair Haley Stevens. “I’m sleeves rolled up to lead our efforts to ensure commonsense candidates who promote American innovation, competitiveness, and prosperity run and win in districts across the country.
“Building on my experience as a candidate who benefited from the support of the Action Fund in flipping and holding a Trump district, I’m ready to rise to the challenge and make sure 2026 returns a diverse, pragmatic Democratic majority to the House that embodies the American values of hard work, family, and building a better future for all.”
“Haley joined New Dems after flipping Michigan’s 11th Congressional District in 2018, and since then has established herself as a leading voice on policy and political strategy, earning the respect of her peers and the trust of her constituents,” said NDC Chair-Elect Brad Schneider. “Her thoughtful, common sense approach exemplifies the New Dem brand of politics that helped our incumbents and candidates hold the line in the 2024 election. With 110 Members in the 119th Congress, New Dems are positioned to utilize the lessons learned from 2024 to deliver a Democratic House majority in 2026 – and Haley is exactly the kind of leader we need to get it done.”
In the 2024 cycle, New Dems delivered important victories – including flipping nine red-to-blue seats, defending 20 frontline Members, holding 19 Democratic seats, and winning three special elections – that helped ensure House Republicans will not have an effective governing majority in the upcoming 119th Congress.
