In the 2024 election cycle, New Dems flipped nine seats – the most of any ideological caucus – protected 20 frontline Members, won three special elections, and held nineteen Democratic seats
New Dems will now make up over half the entire House Democratic Caucus with 110 Members
Today, New Democrat Coalition Action Fund Chair Annie Kuster (NH-02) issued the following statement after Adam Gray was declared the victor in the race for California’s 13th District in the final House contest to be decided in the 2024 election. This follows Derek Tran’s red-to-blue victory in California’s 45th last week, bringing the total number of New Dem freshmen to 25 Members.
“Adam Gray and Derek Tran ran exceptional campaigns, earning the confidence of voters with their common sense messaging and pragmatic approach to politics. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome them to New Dems, where they’ll join one of our largest freshman classes ever and be key players in delivering for the American people in the 119th Congress,” said New Dem Action Fund Chair Kuster. “New Dems are incredibly proud of all our incumbents and candidates, who fought against political headwinds to outperform the top of the ticket across the country and ensure House Republicans do not have an effective governing majority.”
