NDAF-Endorsed Candidate Melissa Bean won in Illinois 8th, and every New Dem incumbent won their respective primaries
Tonight, New Democrat Coalition Action Fund Chair Greg Stanton (AZ-04) issued a statement on the results of the Illinois Democratic primary elections, including the victory of NDAF-endorsed candidate Melissa Bean, a former three-term Representative and Member of the New Democrat Coalition, in Illinois’ 8th district.
“Tonight, Melissa Bean proved once again that New Dems deliver. We deliver in primaries, in general elections, and in the halls of Congress. And this November, we’ll deliver the House majority.
“Melissa won this convincing victory thanks to a steadfast commitment to meeting the people of Illinois’ 8th district where they are – talking about the issues that really matter and proving without a doubt that voters can trust her to advance real change in Washington. I have no doubt this strategy will be the deciding factor that gets her over the finish line in the general election.
“I’d also like to congratulate all six New Dem incumbents in Illinois who will advance to the general election. New Dems look forward to building on this momentum with more endorsements and decisive victories as we approach the midterms.”
All six New Dem incumbents – including New Democrat Coalition Chair Brad Schneider (IL-10), NDC Vice Chair Nikki Budzinski (IL-13), and New Dem Reps. Sean Casten (IL-06), Bill Foster (IL-11), Mike Quigley (IL-05), and Eric Sorensen (IL-17) – advanced to the general election in November.
