These red-to-blue New Dem-endorsed candidates will be the key to helping Democrats take back House control from Republicans
Today, the New Democrat Coalition Action Fund announced the first endorsement slate of candidates for the 2026 midterm elections: Christina Bohannan in Iowa’s 1st district, Rebecca Cooke in Wisconsin’s 3rd, and Janelle Stelson in Pennsylvania’s 10th. All three candidates earned New Dems’ endorsement in the 2024 cycle on their way to over performing in some of the most competitive races in the country.
“I couldn’t be more excited to announce our endorsement of Christina, Rebecca, and Janelle. Each candidate embodies the commonsense approach that defines New Dems,” said New Dem Action Fund Chair Greg Stanton (AZ-04). “As we approach the 2026 midterm elections, we are confident in their ability to fight back against House Republicans’ harmful agenda and deliver the critical red-to-blue victories that are the bedrock of our efforts to take back the House majority.”
"I'm honored to receive the support of the New Democrat Coalition because of our shared commitment to defending healthcare, decreasing costs, and growing America's economy," said Christina Bohannan. "This seat was the closest Republican hold of 2024, and the reason is obvious: my Republican opponent receives her political agenda from her party bosses and billionaire donors. Like the New Dems, I get my agenda from the people I represent. With their help, I'm confident we will finally retire Congresswoman Miller-Meeks and bring Iowa values back to Washington."
"I'm grateful to earn the support of the New Democrat Coalition Action Fund,” said Rebecca Cooke. “New Dems are focused on reaching across the aisle to find common sense solutions to improve the lives of working families across the country, not adding to the gridlock in Washington. As we work to defeat Derrick Van Orden and his radical agenda, this is the kind of pragmatic leadership I'll bring to Congress to deliver for Wisconsin."
“I’m honored to earn the endorsement of the New Dem Action Fund, a group committed to breaking through the gridlock, reaching across the aisle and getting things done,” said Janelle Stelson. “While Congressman Scott Perry has built his career on division, obstruction, and paralyzing partisan politics, I’m focused on delivering bipartisan solutions that actually help families in Central Pennsylvania. I’m grateful for the New Dems’ support as we work to bring practical, common-sense leadership to Washington.”
