Rep. Greg Stanton Announced as Action Fund Chair for the 2026 Cycle

Former Chair Rep. Haley Stevens will remain on the New Dem Leadership Team as she runs for Senate, and Rep. Kim Schrier will take over as National Finance Chair

Washington, D.C. — Today, the New Democrat Coalition Action Fund is announcing that Rep. Greg Stanton (AZ-04), who previously served as the Action Fund’s National Finance Chair, will assume the role of Action Fund Chair for the 2026 cycle, effective immediately.

Rep. Haley Stevens (MI-11) will be passing the torch to focus her efforts on her recently-announced campaign for the 2026 Michigan Senate Election. She will remain a strong part of the New Dem leadership team. With the ascension of Rep. Stanton, Rep. Kim Schrier (WA-08) will take over the role of National Finance Chair. Rep. Stevens will continue to play a key advisory role with the Action Fund, and will retain a position on the Action Fund’s leadership team.

“I couldn’t be more excited to take the helm of the New Dem Action Fund headed into the critical 2026 cycle--supporting candidates and incumbents who know what it takes to win in tough districts. New Dems are the largest Democratic caucus in the House, and as our presence and influence expands, so does our responsibility to deliver a House majority,” said New Dem Action Fund Chair Greg Stanton. “Congresswoman Stevens has worked diligently over the past few months to set us on a path to success this cycle, and I look forward to building on the foundation she established to take back the House Majority next year. I’m ready to continue this work with our incredible leadership team, our incumbents, and the extraordinary candidates we are recruiting across the country to make Speaker Hakeem Jeffries a reality.”

““Once a New Dem, always a New Dem. It’s been a privilege to lead the efforts of such an exceptional group of lawmakers over the past few months, and while I will no longer serve as Chair, I will continue to work alongside Chair Stanton and our leadership team to ensure the success of our candidates in the midterms as Democrats are poised to take back the house,” said outgoing Chair Rep. Haley Stevens. “As I look to fill the shoes of retiring Senator Gary Peters, who was also a New Dem, in one of the most competitive Senate seats in the country, I am taking the spirit of this incredible organization on the trail with me as I put up my hand to be the champion in the Senate for Michigan workers, Michigan manufacturing, and Michigan families.”

“I want to thank Haley Stevens for stepping into this role and doing an incredible job setting up New Dems for success in the 2026 cycle,” said New Democrat Coalition Chair Brad Schneider. “She’s an impressive New Dem, Member, and Michigander, and there is no doubt she will make an amazing Senator. As she prepares for a competitive race, we are grateful that Greg Stanton is stepping up from his role as the Action Fund’s Finance Director to become Chair. The Action Fund will play a critical role in ensuring Democrats take back the House from Republicans and put a necessary check on the Trump administration. Greg has a strong track record of rolling up his sleeves and getting stuff done to deliver for Arizonans and will bring that same commitment in helping elect and protect New Dems.”
