WASHINGTON, D.C. – On the heels of Shontel Brown's primary election victory in the Ohio 11 primary, New Democrat Coalition Action Fund Chair Brad Schneider issued the following statement:
“I could not be happier or prouder to congratulate my friend and colleague, Shontel Brown, on another successful election,” said New Democrat Coalition Action Fund Chair Congressman Brad Schneider. “My New Dem colleagues know how to win tough races, from competitive swing districts to deep-blue districts like Ohio-11. But we are focused on more than just headlines and election results: NewDems offer thoughtful, innovative ideas, and we are bringing a new crop of similarly minded Democrats to Congress who will work across ideologies and across the aisle to get important work done. We know that’s what voters want, and what our country needs.”
He added, “Style matters, and Shontel Brown’s victory proves it.”
This year, the New Dem Action Fund launched its first-ever Independent Expenditure, injecting a $50,000 digital ad buy into the race to defend Rep. Brown.
The NewDem Action Fund was among the earliest supporters of Shontel Brown’s 2021 election.
Made up of 98 Democrats, NewDems advocate within the Democratic Party and Congress for new ideas and new approaches to move America forward. The New Democrat Coalition is the largest ideological caucus amongst House Democrats and represents more than forty percent of House Democrats. Formed by Members of the New Democrat Coalition, the NewDem Action Fund helps re-elect House NewDems and elect new, like-minded leaders who can help develop a positive policy agenda and message.
