WASHINGTON, D.C. – Continuing on their commitment to building a thoughtful, forward-looking House Majority, the New Democrat Coalition Action Fund today announced the addition of three candidates to its “Candidate Watch List.” Those include Morgan McGarvey (KY-03), Glenn Ivey (MD-04), and Jared Moskowitz (FL-23).
“It’s wonderful to see so many candidates from ideologically diverse districts take such a strong interest in the NewDems,” said Congressman Brad Schneider, Chair of the New Dem Action Fund. “To have NewDems competing in a wide swath of open seats, including some not currently held by a Member of our Coalition, means fresh voices and fresh perspectives to further unite our efforts. I couldn’t be happier to bring these extraordinary candidates aboard, and I look forward to working with them in the march to November."
NewDem Action Fund’s “Candidate Watch List” represents early-stage support for candidates running for Congress and serves as an indicator for races to watch. NewDem Action Fund’s “candidates to watch” released in September represented the first slate of candidate support from any of the House’s ideological caucuses. NewDem-backed candidates represent 11 of the 12 candidates recently added to DCCC’s “Red to Blue list.”

If elected to Congress, I'm excited at the possibility of joining a caucus of my colleagues who are just as committed to standing up for our progressive values and delivering results."
The New Democrat Coalition is the largest ideological caucus amongst House Democrats, counting more than forty percent of the caucus as members. The 98 NewDems represent a central core of the Democratic Party and advocate within Congress, and the party as a whole, for innovative approaches and constructive solutions to move America forward.
