New Dems are the only ideological caucus to flip seats so far this cycle and are sending more Members to Congress than any other caucus, with at least 19 New Dem candidates winning their House races and three New Dem Members winning their Senate races
As the House remains too close to call and more races are called, New Dem Action Fund Chair Annie Kuster (NH-02) issued the following statement on the recent results:
“As more House races are called, our New Dems’ ranks continue to grow. As of Thursday afternoon, we have protected at least seventeen frontline Members and have elected at least nineteen new Members of Congress. At this rate, and as West Coast results are called, the New Democrat Coalition is expected to continue to grow. We congratulate all of our Members and candidates on their tremendous victories in both the House and the Senate and look forward to welcoming them to Washington next week.”
So far, New Dems are the only ideological caucus to have flipped seats in the 2024 cycle, while also helping elect more new Members and protecting more frontliners than any other caucus. Three New Dem Members have also been elected to the Senate, more than any other caucus.
