WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week, NewDem Members hosted a roundtable with NDAF-backed candidates in competitive swing districts on the New Democrat Coalition’s Action Plan to Fight Inflation, which Forbes has called “the best inflation-fighting blueprint to come out of Congress.” The NewDem Action Plan outlines an Affordability Agenda and urges President Biden and Congress to take common sense steps to bring down prices for American working families. Specific recommendations include strengthening global supply chains, rolling back costly and ineffective Trump-era tariffs, lowering energy and food prices, transitioning to a clean energy economy, and increasing affordable housing to meet demand.
NewDem Reps. Suzan DelBene, Scott Peters, Annie Kuster, Sharice Davids, and Salud Carbajal led the discussion and emphasized the work they are doing in Congress to bring down costs for Americans, create jobs, and strengthen the economy.
“Inflation is affecting American families in red, blue, and purple districts alike and NewDems are leveraging every tool available in Congress to make basic necessities more affordable,” said NewDem Action Fund Chair Brad Schneider. “Our red to blue candidates share the NewDems’ mission of improving our economy to ensure everyone has the opportunity to succeed. We look forward to common sense candidates joining us in the next Congress.”
