New Dems have now endorsed five candidates ahead of 2026, with Joanna Mendoza and Paige Cognetti joining Christina Bohannan, Rebecca Cooke, and Janelle Stelson
Today, the New Democrat Coalition Action Fund announced its endorsement of two candidates seeking to flip critical House seats in the 2026 midterm elections, JoAnna Mendoza in Arizona’s 6th district and Paige Cognetti in Pennsylvania’s 8th.
“I’m excited to announce our endorsement of JoAnna Mendoza and Paige Cognetti, two rising stars in the Democratic party who have clearly demonstrated they have what it takes to flip these tough seats and deliver real solutions when they get to Congress,” said New Dem Action Fund Chair Greg Stanton (AZ-04). “As our roster of endorsed red-to-blue candidates continues to grow, New Dems are laser-focused on providing them with the resources they need to win the pivotal seats that can secure a House Democratic majority in 2026.”
“I’m honored to have the support of the New Dem Action Fund. As a Marine veteran, I know what it means to put service first,” said JoAnna Mendoza. “I’m running to bring that same sense of duty to Congress, delivering commonsense, results-driven solutions that grow our economy, expand opportunity, and strengthen Arizona’s working families."
“Six years ago I ran for mayor of Scranton because our city government no longer worked for the people it served. Now I’m running for Congress because the same thing is happening in Washington,” said Paige Cognetti. “When I speak to people in my community they don’t care about Democratic ideas or Republican ideas, they just want government to work as hard as they do. New Dems share that belief and that’s why I’m proud to have their endorsement.”
