NewDem Action Fund Celebrates President Biden’s Re-election Announcement for the 2024 Presidential Race

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the New Democrat Coalition Action Fund Honorary Chair Ami Bera and New Democrat Coalition Chair Annie Kuster released the following joint statement celebrating President Biden’s announcement that he will run for re-election in 2024:

“NewDems are Biden Dems. Our Members and candidates share the President’s mission to restore the soul of our nation and his commitment to working across the aisle to deliver for the American people. Last Congress was among the most productive in our nation’s history, and that was no accident. President Biden led our nation out of the dark Trump years and worked hard to pass meaningful legislation to improve the lives of our constituents. Under his leadership, we passed the most important infrastructure law in decades, legislation to lower health care and energy costs for hardworking Americans, and the first gun violence prevention law in a generation.

“As extremist Republicans continue to threaten Americans’ fundamental freedoms and put our country on a path to economic catastrophe, NewDems know President Biden is the best person to defend Americans from these attacks. Most importantly, his candidacy will be critical as NewDems work to take back the House and flip the 18 districts held by Republicans that President Biden won in 2020. NewDems look forward to working with the President on his campaign and to building on the progress we’ve made under his strong and steady leadership.”
