NewDem Action Fund Endorses Gil Cisneros for California’s 31st Congressional District

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the New Democrat Coalition Action Fund announced its endorsement of Gil Cisneros for California’s 31st Congressional District, following the announcement of Rep. Grace Napolitano’s retirement. Cisneros previously represented California in the House during the 116th Congress and was a Member of the New Democrat Coalition. His experience as a Naval Officer, Under Secretary of Defense, LA County Congress Member, and education leader, will make him a strong advocate for Californians in Congress.

“I’m thrilled the NewDem Action Fund is endorsing our fellow NewDem Gil Cisneros in this California race,” said New Democrat Coalition Chair Annie Kuster (NH-02). “Gil has a strong track record of delivering for his constituents on critical issues, from expanding access to health care and strengthening veterans benefits. There’s no doubt he’s the best candidate to represent this district and continue our Coalition's work of lowering costs, growing the middle class, and strengthening the economy.”

“Gil Cisneros is a tried and tested leader. With his strong track record in Congress and at the Department of Defense, it’s clear he’s the best candidate to serve the people of CA-31,” said Rep. Josh Harder, NewDem Action Fund Recruitment Co-Chair. “Gil and I both flipped red California seats blue in 2018 and I look forward to working together again to lower costs, support our veterans, and give families the tools they need to thrive. I'm thrilled he's earned the endorsement of the NewDem Action Fund.”

“I am immensely proud to be endorsed again by the New Democrats Action Fund in my race for California's 31st Congressional District,” said Gil Cisneros (CA-31). “As a Member of Congress, I was a big supporter of both the NewDem Action Fund and the solutions-oriented approach to politics that all 98 Members bring to the table. Together, we will build an economy that grows the middle class, combat climate change, strengthen affordable healthcare access, improve national security, and generally advance bipartisan interests.”
