NewDem Action Fund Announces New Red-to-Blue Candidate Endorsement Slate

NewDems are Proud to Endorse Christina Bohannan (IA-01), Monica Tranel (MT-01), and Adam Gray (CA-13)

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the New Democrat Coalition Action Fund is excited to announce its latest endorsement slate for the House of Representatives, including Christina Bohannan (IA-01), Monica Tranel (MT-01), and Adam Gray (CA-13). Each of these NewDem candidates is running to flip districts from red to blue and help Democrats take bac  k the House from Republicans in 2024.

“I’m excited to announce the NewDem endorsement of Christina Bohanan, Monica Tranel, and Adam Gray — three candidates who will be key to our mission of taking back the House from the GOP chaos caucus in 2024,” said NewDem Chair Annie Kuster. “These battle tested candidates know how to run tough races and have proven they have what it takes to win. I’m confident each of them have the vision and determination to flip these seats in November and deliver Democrats the majority in 2024.”

“From coast to coast, north to south, NewDems are recruiting candidates who can flip seats from red to blue, and that’s exactly what Monica, Adam and Christina will do in 2024,” said NewDem Recruitment Co-Chairs Josh Harder and Pat Ryan. “Republicans have proven time and time again that they can’t govern and can’t deliver for the American people. It’s time for Democrats to lead the House and these candidates will help us get there.”

“It is my job to represent all of my constituents--Democrats, Republicans, and everything in between,” said Christina Bohannan (IA-01). “Divisive politics is damaging our country. It is vitally important that coalitions like NewDems are carving a bipartisan path forward to bring innovation, economic growth, and opportunity to the small towns and rural areas of Iowa and Midwest. I am honored to earn their endorsement and look forward to creating much-needed change alongside their members in Congress.”

"Central Valley voters know that bipartisanship and working across party lines works. In Congress, the New Democrat Coalition shares these values and I am honored to have their support," said Adam Gray (CA-13). "As Chair of the New Dem Caucus in the Legislature, I fostered cooperation between our members and I refused to embrace the rhetoric of blaming and demonizing the other side. Unfortunately, John Duarte has taken the opposite approach in Congress, putting party bosses first, and it's time for a change."

“I’ve dedicated my entire career to working for Montana’s middle class, families, ranchers, and small businesses, and am proud to have the New Dems Action Fund with me as I continue this work through my journey to Congress,” said Monica Tranel (MT-01). “As Montana’s representative I will continue my work to build Montana’s middle class, protect our freedoms and privacy, a clean and healthy environment, and put money back in the pockets of our families, seniors, and veterans who are struggling to cope with high prices and lack of housing.”
